About TJC

Our mission:
To improve human lives: Those of our patients, each other, and our greater community.
The Jackson Clinics, LLC is a locally owned physical therapy practice in multiple locations throughout Northern Virginia. We specialize in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation. Our therapists and assistants possess advanced clinical skills in spinal disorders, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and peripheral joint problems, including rotator cuff injuries, knee injuries and foot and ankle pain.
Our practice was founded in 2005 by Richard Jackson with two goals. First, we set out to be a regional practice to serve the needs of the Northern Virginia community. Second, we wanted to be a model practice in all respects; clinical care, education and research. Simply stated, we have a desire to be the best practice that we can be.
We started with four locations and have grown to 13. Why did we set out to be regional practice? A regional practice gives us the ability to meet the various needs of the people we serve; physicians, patients, and insurers. Consider the following questions and answers. Do we offer advanced clinical services? Yes. Do we participate with virtually all insurance carriers? Yes. Are we near where you live? Yes. Do we have educational programs in place that foster excellence? Yes. Do we supply the reporting that physicians and payers need in a timely manner? Yes. Do we utilize advanced technology in all aspects of our practice? Yes. Are we involved in our communities and do we give back to our communities? Yes.
We took a huge step in 2009 towards being a model practice with the establishment of a Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency program, one of only two in the state. Our program was credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2010. The program was started to promote advanced clinical skills within our organization. The Residency program has an educational component comprised of 30 days per year of physical therapy education that covers virtually every area of the body. Educators come in from all over the country to teach our staff evidence based clinical orthopedics. These courses are open to all of our staff, not just our Residents. In addition, the Residency program has a research requirement which brings research into our everyday practice. The Residency fosters excellence among our staff, and provides them with an ongoing vehicle for professional growth.
Quality and consistency of care are the cornerstones of our practice. Everything we do as a company is directed towards developing and fostering these behaviors. Quality means doing things that work. We design programs of care that have been proven to be effective treatment interventions. You can expect individualized, hands on care.
Consistency is achieved because all professional staff use the same evidence based evaluation formats in assessing your condition. It is the evaluation that guides the treatments chosen for you by the therapist. Further, we understand that two things are required for you to improve. First, patient education is essential. You must understand your condition. Second, the therapist cannot do it all. You must be an active participant in your care.
