Residents participate in:
- 26 days (208 hours) of classroom and lab instruction covering all aspects of Orthopedic Physical Therapy
- 150+ hours of ongoing, one-on-one clinical supervision/mentoring while treating patients
- 88 hours of research activities guided by our research coordinator, with a goal of publishing in a peer-reviewed journal
- 6 modules throughout the year with detailed learning objectives to guide your self study, comprehensive written examinations with over 600 test questions, and comprehensive psychomotor skills evaluations from our expert manual therapy focused mentors
- 72 hours of resident directed learning through working on our community service projects centered around our globally focused clinical development projects
- Training in evidence-based guidelines and advanced clinical practice
- Focused skill building on examination, treatment, and clinical reasoning aspects of patient care
- Preparation for Orthopedic Clinical Specialist examination
- Medical “shadowing” experience. Spend 60 hours with orthopedic surgeons of six different specialties in the clinic and in surgery
- Residency Program begins each January and runs for 50 weeks
- Residents are employed at The Jackson Clinics on a full time basis
- Full time employees are compensated at the current market rate and receive a full benefit package
