Education: Gene graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in “Liberal Arts” with a double major in Public Policy and Political Science. Gene received his J.D. from Washington & Lee University, and he is a member of the Virginia State Bar. Gene also obtained a certification as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) for the Windows 2000/XP platform.
Specialties: Gene is a “details maniac”. His years of legal experience and training and his work with initially private clients and later corporate employers who want to “get the deal done” have honed his skills as a business-oriented, but deliberate transactional counselor and litigation support specialist. Early in his professional career as an attorney engaged in general practice, Gene tried civil and criminal cases and made appearances in State and Federal courts. He also prepared and presented appeals. However, Gene much prefers legal transaction work over litigation. Gene is particularly proficient in research, analysis, logical reasoning, and legal/technical writing. Gene reviews and contributes to our contracts, corporate documentation and correspondence, and performs “other tasks as assigned”.
Fun Facts: Gene is an “accomplished” tennis player and “ego boosting” golfer (for his friends). He also likes to collect and play games of strategy, particularly board games. Gene enjoys travel, and the great outdoors.
