Our Thorough Care Promise
Our Thorough Care Promise
At The Jackson Clinics, our job is simple: solve the problem you hired us for, prevent it from coming back, and help you live a long and healthy life.
Here’s how we do that.

Step 1: We solve the problem you came in for
We start with your symptoms—but we don’t stop there.
When something hurts or limits you, it usually isn’t random. It’s your body asking for help. So we take a full-system approach to understand what’s driving it and how to change it.
Symptom Management
We prescribe treatments and exercises that reliably help to ease your primary symptoms and work with professional colleagues to help if we are not able to solve them completely on our own. We also explain the importance of the full plan of care and how it relates to your symptoms feeling better now and in the future.
Mobility
We make sure the primary body regions that are contributing to your symptoms have the mobility required to function as well as possible. This includes making your joints more mobile, your muscles more flexible, improving range of motion, reducing resting muscle tension, and helping connective tissue and nerve tissue slide and glide normally when you move.
Stability
We ensure that you have the muscle activation, muscle strength, muscle endurance, and muscle power your body needs to control your movements and meet the demands of your activities. This also includes testing and training your core muscles and your heart and lung performance.
Posture and Movement Patterns
We verify that you are choosing the best possible resting postures and movement patterns for your body as you move throughout your day. This includes balance assessment, walking and running gait assessment, and replication of key movements that occur in your life, work, and sport. We add resistance and fatigue as well to make conditions as close to “real life” as possible.
Self-Efficacy
Once you can prove to us that you feel confident and in control of your symptoms, your mobility, your stability, and your movement patterns, we are ready to work on the next step of rehab: preventing your symptoms from coming back!
Step 2: We prevent it from coming back
Once symptoms start to settle, we shift focus from short-term relief to long-term resilience.
Because fixing the problem is one thing—keeping it fixed is another.
The Whole-Body Approach
The human machine is an incredibly inter-connected system. It is true that we can help reduce symptoms by focusing on a small region of the body, but to prevent symptoms from returning we must turn our attention to the entire system. This means that we will assess your mobility, stability, and posture throughout your entire body to identify elements that we can work on to set you up for fewer symptoms in the future.
Detailed Testing
Once symptoms begin to subside, your physical therapy team will incorporate tests and measures that give you data about how your body is performing in comparison to others like you in the population. This is incredibly useful to you and to your therapy team to help set treatment goals and build your long-term health plan.
Sleep, Stress, Nutrition
Even with a perfectly functioning human machine, issue with sleep, stress, and nutrition can wear you down and lead to symptoms coming back. As part of your care, we will talk you through the basics of sleep hygiene, stress management, and nutrition then refer you to experts in the field if you want to learn more.
Step 3: We help you live a long, healthy, active life
We don’t just want you to feel better—we want you to stay better for decades.
Two of the strongest predictors of long-term health are your cardiovascular fitness and your strength. So we measure and train both.
The number 1 predictor of health later in life is the performance of your heart and lungs.
This is called cardiovascular capacity, and in the research one of the best ways to measure it is through something called VO2. As part of your care with TJC, we will measure your blood pressure both before AND after exercise AND we will measure your VO2 and compare it against others in your age range and gender. We will then set you up with a research-backed exercise program to maintain or improve your VO2 and help you live a long and health life.
The second-best predictor of health later in life is muscle strength.
The more we can help you build muscle as part of your physical therapy, the better your long-term health will be. As part of your care with TJC, we will design a full body strengthening program and we will help you understand other factors that contribute to strength including food, sleep, stress, and other important factors.
Social Determinants of Health
80% of your long term health outlook can be attributed to environmental factors, social factors, cognitive-emotional factors, comorbidities, and neuropathic factors. As part of your care with TJC, we will discuss and consider how these important factors are impacting your long-term health outlook and intervene where we can then refer to an expert when it is outside of our scope of practice. We figure out why they’re happening, help you fix them, and give you the tools to stay healthy long after your time with us.
