Dr. Ben Keeton, President, CEO



Dr. Ben Keeton, PT, DPT, MBA, OCS

Education: Ben graduated from the University of Delaware with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. There, he worked as a Graduate Assistant in the research department, developed a paper for publication in APTA’s PT Journal, and graduated first in his class. He completed his undergraduate work the College of William and Mary where he majored in Kinesiology with a pre-med track. At William and Mary, Ben played Division I varsity baseball for 4 years and graduate Phi Beta Kappa. He is also a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and Board Certified Direct Access Provider and MBA graduate at George Washington University. Ben has been certified as a clinical instructor from the American Physical Therapy Association.

Specialties: Ben is interested in rehabilitation of orthopedic conditions of all kinds. He has extensive experience with athletic injuries, postoperative care, chronic pain, and exercise prescription and progression. He is an educator at many levels in The Jackson Clinics, including teaching courses for professional development, mentoring new graduates, mentoring physical therapy students, mentoring orthopedic residents, and mentoring Clinic Directors and Office Managers on clinical operations. He has a passion for professional development, involvement in the APTA, and involvement in global initiatives for the advancement of the profession of physical therapy.

Fun Facts: Ben enjoys playing sports and is a Wiffle Ball Champion! He is also an avid fisherman and spends as much time as possible on the water. He loves to travel, and has worked with the Jackson Foundation to teach physical therapy in Ethiopia and Kenya as part of the ongoing Africa Programs.

 

Angela Carstens, Physical Therapist



Angela Carstens, PT, BSPT

Education: Angela graduated from the University of Cape Town with her Bachelors in Physiotherapy in December 2007. She completed her Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy (OMTPTG) in 2016 and is looking forward to her Orthopedic Residency at The Jackson Clinics.

Specialties: Angela has a background in professional dance and the performing arts and is interested in specializing further in Physiotherapy treatment for this niche group of athletes. She enjoys working with dancers as well as providing rehabilitation and PT services for patient struggling with neck and shoulder issues.  As a Pilates instructor (mat and reformer) she brings exiting and specific exercises to her sessions.

Fun Facts: Angela has two children that she adores. She loves to sing, and enjoys spinning, long distance running, and yoga.

Dr. Amanda Nguyen, Physical Therapist

Education:

Amanda graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in May 2018. She then went to Thomas Jefferson University and completed her Doctorate in Physical therapy in May 2022. Amanda has been a member of the APTA since 2019.

Specialties:

Amanda has a strong interest in pediatrics, vestibular rehabilitation, and sports-related injuries. She enjoys working with all types of athletes, from dancers to soccer players, and she is open to treating them all!

Fun Facts:

Amanda is a native of northern Virginia and is a former 1st-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and still enjoys learning other types of martial arts. In her free time, she enjoys weightlifting, calisthenics, playing video games, and trying new board games with friends.

Dr. Gabby Skorey, Physical Therapist

Education: Gabrielle graduated from Emory University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May 2025 and her Master of Business Administration degree in May 2024. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a focus on Movement Science. With a unique blend of clinical expertise and business acumen, Gabrielle is passionate about delivering high quality patient care while advancing strategic innovation within healthcare.

Specialties: As a former soccer player, Gabrielle has a strong interest in working with athletes throughout their rehabilitation journey, with a particular focus on return to sport readiness. She is passionate about helping individuals regain strength, mobility, and confidence after injury, and she enjoys tailoring treatment plans that consider the physical and mental demands of athletics.

Fun Facts: Outside of the clinic, Gabrielle enjoys tapping into her creative side through writing poetry and painting. She also loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s hitting the golf course or exploring scenic trails on a hike, she finds balance in staying active and spending time in nature.

Dr. Jacob Nguyen, Physical Therapist

Education: Jacob graduated from the University of Delaware with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in December 2021. He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science in 2019. Jacob has been a member of the APTA since 2019.

Specialties: Jacob has a strong background in strength and conditioning and is primarily interested in orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA, and has experience working with youth soccer and volleyball, as well as one on one training for active adults.

Fun Facts: Jacob has been involved in sports since he was a child, including soccer, basketball, track and golf. Outside of sports and treating patients, he also enjoys cooking, hiking and fishing. He is currently working on climbing each of the highest points in all 50 states.

Dr. Jane Summers, Physical Therapist

Dr. Jane Summers, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Dr. Summers graduated from Lynchburg College with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2014. She has completed both the Jackson Clinics’ residency program and the University of Pittsburgh’s advanced vestibular program, earning her credentials as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and Advanced Vestibular Physical Therapist. As an APTA-certified clinical instructor, she enjoys giving back to the profession via mentoring students and residents throughout the year.

Specialties: Dr. Summers works with a wide patient population, and has experience treating neurological and orthopedic pathologies, including post-operative conditions and vestibular dysfunction. She enjoys utilizing her manual therapy and dry needling skills to supplement patient-tailored strengthening and movement re-training exercises. Stemming from her core belief in treating the body as a whole—and not in parts—she also customizes orthotics and provides 3D gait assessment services.

Fun Facts: Jane enjoys reading, traveling, and being physically active. She will try most anything once in the name of fun, relational bonding, and/or experiential growth.

Dr. John Ciccarello, Physical Therapist



Dr. John Ciccarello, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: John graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1998 with a degree in Civil Engineering—what he now jokingly calls “physical therapy, but for buildings.” After 13 years of active Army service, he was accepted into the Army-Baylor Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2014. He became a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2017 and then achieved the highest possible credential from the McKenzie Institute, becoming a Diplomate in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) in 2022.

Specialties: With more than a decade’s experience in orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation, John specializes in treating spinal and lower extremity conditions—particularly in athletic and active populations. His blends targeted rehabilitation exercises, strength training, and aerobic conditioning with common-sense adjustments to lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, and stress management. He also incorporates specialized techniques including manual therapy, blood flow restriction training, and dry needling. John is passionate about helping patients not only recover from injury but also unlocking their full potential for healthy longevity.

Fun Facts: John served nearly three decades in the U.S. Army as an Infantry, Special Forces, and Medical Specialist Corps officer. At home, his music preferences are happily shaped by his three daughters’ Spotify playlists. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys time on the trails or the water—often with his spouse, daughters, or two dogs (though never all at once!). He competes year-round in masters rowing, obstacle course racing, and trail running.

Dr. Stephen Boettke, Physical Therapist

Education: Stephen graduated from University of Pittsburgh with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December 2021. He received a graduate certificate in rehabilitation science and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from George Mason University prior.

Specialties: Stephen has a strong interest and background in orthopedic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, sports related injuries and return to sport rehabilitation. Stephen worked as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes prior to attending physical therapy school and maintains his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Fun Facts: Stephen played basketball locally at Robinson High School and with the Fairfax Stars AAU organization. Stephen continues to love playing hoops as well as weightlifting, hiking, kayaking, and any outdoor activities. He also enjoys rooting for the local Washington professional sports teams as well as his two alma maters, University of Pittsburgh and George Mason University.
