Phillip Ratliff, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Phillip is a 2012 Duke University graduate with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He completed his undergraduate work in 2009 at University of Tulsa in Tulsa, OK with a degree in Exercise Sports Science and a minor in Psychology. In 2012, he completed a specialty certification in Vestibular Therapy and Rehabilitation. He is also an active APTA member in the orthopedic and neurology section and a member of the vestibular/dizziness special interest group.

Specialties: Phillip has a strong interest and background in treating all orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He has worked closely with MD’s from the Steadman-Hawkins clinics for numerous post-operative care patients from high school through geriatric populations. Phillip also has a real passion for working with patients suffering from vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, and other vestibular disorders. He has worked extensively with conditions such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Unilateral vestibular loss, bilateral vestibular loss, Meniere’s disease, and disorders of the central nervous system. He is also plays an active role in the Jackson Clinics Vestibular Team and the further development of the company’s vestibular programs.

Fun Facts: Phillip is an avid sports fan of all types, although his heart lies with basketball. He has played basketball in competitive leagues since age 9 and has been a part of numerous intramural champions throughout his undergraduate and graduate career, including a championship won in Cameron Indoor Arena on Coach K Court. Phillip is a feverish Duke Blue Devil and Tulsa Golden Hurricane Fan. In his spare time, he can be found working out, shooting hoops in the local park, enjoying a good sports game on television, or hanging out with his friends and family.

Ellie Stephens, PT, DPT

Education: Ellie graduated from the University of Lynchburg with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2024. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Science Education degree in Kinesiology. She has been a member of the APTA since 2021

Specialties: Ellie has an interest and background in orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. She believes that the whole body needs to be addressed in order to achieve the best outcomes and patient goals. During her last two clinical rotations, Ellie developed an interest in Pelvic Health and enjoyed treating patients during the pregnancy, post-partum, and menopausal stages of life with conditions such as Incontinence, Urgency, Diastasis Recti, and SIJ dysfunction.

Fun Facts: Ellie is a loyal UVA fan despite growing up in a Virginia Tech household. Outside of the clinic she enjoys working out, reading, traveling, and finding new restaurants in the DMV area.

Mike Wilkins, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Mike graduated from Mary Baldwin with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2021. He completed his undergraduate degree of Bachelor of Sciences in Geology and a Minor in Fitness at the University of Pittsburgh. He has been a member of the APTA since 2017.

Specialties: Mike is interested in treating the body as a whole and how the different parts work together as a team. He is a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. He worked for 3 years as an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer before starting his PT journey.

Fun Facts: Mike spends most of his free time reading fantasy stories or playing with his dog. He enjoys playing tennis with his family and competing in solving puzzles or games.

Rony Roman, PT, DPT, COMT, CSCS, LSVT BIG, CPT

Education: Dr. Roman graduated from Messiah University with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2023. He completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a minor in psychology in May 2020. Rony has been a member of the APTA since 2020.

Specialties: Rony has a strong interest and background in sports and orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. He values helping patients return to the sport they love, but he also enjoys working with all individuals of all ages! Rony is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), allowing him to effectively treat high level athletes and improve their performance. He is working towards becoming a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). Additionally, Rony is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT). He is LSVT BIG® certified through LSVT Global to effectively treat people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and other neurological conditions. He is also a certified personal trainer (CPT) through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Rony is excited to implement these skills into practice to improve everyone’s function!

Fun Facts: Rony is a follower of Jesus! He loves reading God’s Word in the Bible and putting it into practice, going to church with family and friends, and listening to Christian music! He is an avid soccer player, his favorite teams are FC Barcelona and Argentina, and his favorite player is Lionel Messi. Rony enjoys weightlifting, hiking, watching sports, and spending time with family. He is also fluent in Spanish!
