Amanda Townsend, Clinic Director

Amanda Townsend, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Amanda is a Columbia University graduate with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed her undergraduate work at The Ohio State University majoring in Athletic Training. She is a licensed PT in Ohio, Washington, D.C and Virginia and is a Board Certified Direct Access provider in the state of Virginia. Amanda will begin The Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Residency in January 2014, in order to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. She is also an active APTA member in the Orthopedic and Sports Sections.

Specialties: Amanda has an interest and background in orthopedics and sports medicine. In addition to treating common orthopedic injuries and musculoskeletal disorders, Amanda is experienced in treating ankle and foot injuries. She also has experience working with Div. 1 sports teams as an athletic trainer at The Ohio State University.

Fun Facts: Amanda loves listening to music, traveling and Ohio State Football. She’s run one half-marathon so far and is also quickly becoming an avid hiker.

Cassie Jurasits, Physical Therapist

Cassie Jurasits, PT

Education: Cassie graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 1989 with a BS in Physical Therapy. She is an active orthopeadic section APTA member and regularly attends continuing education courses offered by the Jackson Clinics Residency Program.

Specialties: Cassie’s specialty is outpatient orthopeadics. She enjoys helping people feel better, move better, and function better with the basic activities of everyday living, as well as helping them get back to doing what they love to do. In addition to providing manual therapy and exercise guidance, Cassie enjoys educating people to a greater understanding of their individual physical situations. She has a particular interest in treating dysfunctions of the spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and ankle.

Fun Facts: Cassie landed her first job at Johns Hopkins Hospital because of a foot massage. She and her husband hiked Half Dome. Her favorite family vacation spot is Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Leila Khatouri, Physical Therapist

Leila Khatouri, PT, DPT

Education: Leila graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2016. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Psychology. She has been a member of the APTA since 2013. She is currently working towards obtaining her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification through TJC’s Orthopedic Residency.

Specialties: Leila has a strong interest and background in orthopedic injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and with a variety of musculoskeletal injuries.

Fun facts: Leila played on the club volleyball team while at UVA and continues to enjoy playing whenever she gets the chance. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching Virginia basketball, and going to the beach.


Madison Buckley, Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist Madison Buckley, PT, DPT

Education: Madison graduated from Utica College with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in May 2017. She completed her undergraduate work at SUNY Brockport with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and minor in Biology. She has been a member of the APTA since 2014. Madison is furthering her education as an Orthopedic Resident at TJC, with the goal to become an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.

Specialties: Madison has experience and interest in treating a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions. She treats patients in all stages of injury: acute, chronic, post-operative, etc . As a former collegiate field hockey player, Madison enjoys working with athletes of all levels.

Fun Facts: Madison is a former Division III athlete where she played forward for the SUNY Brockport field hockey team. Madison loves to exercise and enjoy the outdoors whenever possible. She LOVES dogs, especially her new puppy named Reggie! She is an avid New England Patriots fan and lives for football Sundays full of chicken wing dip, pizza, and winning.


Patti Towsley, Physical Therapist

Patti Towsley, PT, DPT, OCS

Education: Patti graduated from the University of Maryland with her Bachelor of Physical Therapy and Marymount University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech University. She is a Board certified direct access provider and is a certified Sportsmetrics trainer. She participates in The Jackson Clinics Orthopedics Clinical Residency Program as a mentor to residents. She also is a guest lecturer for local physical therapy programs in SI joint dysfunction and vestibular rehabilitation. Patti has been certified has a clinical instructor (CI) from the American Physical Therapy Association. Patti is also Board Certified as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopedics.

Specialties: Patti has extensive experience with cervical, thoracic, lumbar spine and sacroiliac and hip pain/dysfunctions, evaluation and treatment of neurological conditions and vestibular and other balance related dysfunctions. She has a strong background with computer based movement analysis with emphasis on equestrians and runners as well as prescription/fabrication of custom orthotics. Patti has a special interest in hand injury rehabilitation for post surgical and non surgical patients.

Fun Facts: Patti likes riding and working with horses, trying new wines, and boating with her husband. She owns a Russian Thoroughbred horse and her favorite all time movie is My Cousin Vinnie!

Shravya Kovela, Physical Therapist

Physical Therapist Shravya Kovela, PT, DPT

Education: Shravya graduated from Emory University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in May 2017. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia with two majors, a Bachelors of Arts in Cognitive Science and in Psychology. Shravya has been a member of the APTA since 2016.

Specialties: Shravya is expanding her orthopedic knowledge by pursuing her OCS through The Jackson Clinics’ Orthopedic Residency program in 2018. She has an interest in alternative methods of conservative treatment (in addition to physical therapy) to address pain on an individual level, including yoga and meditation.

Fun Facts: Shravya is a Zumba fitness instructor and has been for 5+ years. She currently enjoys volunteering in the community to bring health and wellness to people of all backgrounds and activity levels. Shravya is a dedicated yogi, loves both the beach and mountains, and can be easily won over by a bar of dark chocolate.
