Who is Dr. Nick Rolnick?

Rick Joreitz (PT, DPT, ATC) earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences with a concentration in Athletic Training in 2005, and his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in 2008, both from the University of Pittsburgh. In 2011 he became a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

Joreitz worked as a physical therapist for the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute (formerly the Centers for Rehab Services) for 11 years and was the team physical therapist for the Pittsburgh Penguins, including their 2016 and 2017 Stanley Cup championship seasons.

In 2019, Joreitz was hired to a dual-role as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Team Physical Therapist for Pitt Athletics. He currently teaches in the musculoskeletal curriculum and primarily works with the Pitt Football Team. In 2022, with the support of the Athletic Department, Joreitz developed the University of Pittsburgh Division I Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship program and serves as its director.

Joreitz has recently enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh Doctor of Education program, majoring in Higher Education.
