Orthopedic Certified Specialists
The Jackson Clinics Orthopedic Residency Program has been accredited by the ABPTRFE since 2009, the accrediting body for the APTA. The program is one of the first and only orthopedic physical therapy residencies to be accredited in the mid-Atlantic region.
The mission of the residency program is to help improve the standard of clinical practice within our company and our region for better delivery of consistent, high-quality physical therapy care to our community. We seek to graduate advanced practitioners who can lead our company and our profession in the advancement of our clinical care, education, community service, and research goals. Residencies and board certification are on the rise nationally. However, less than 1 % of PTs complete residency programs, and less than 10% of PTs complete board certification.
- Nearly 50% of all PT staff are currently or have been involved as residents or faculty in the residency program. This makes for a unique learning culture
- All faculty members are board certified in orthopedics
- All faculty have participated in advanced training in mentoring/ teaching pedagogy and many are residency program graduates
- Most faculty have 7 + years of residency mentoring experience
